Where have I been?!

I apologize for my absence, but I was gone for good reason.  The last few days have been spent doing some major spring cleaning (that's right, I said spring - it has to be here soon) and with the cleaning came a big move for me, my own craft room!!!  Here are some pics, it's still not quite as organized as I would like it but it's really nice to have my own space...if it looks untidy I can just close my door!

Welcome!  Prior to this my desk was in the corner of our living room.  It was definately functional but now that Zane is older, there is no reason why he can't come downstairs to play while I work :)
Lots more storage, Yay!!!  That means more shopping for meeeee!
The little corner cupboard was my kitchen cupboard in my playhouse when I was a little girl :)  Now it holds my special knick knacks that have been packed away since Nick was born - 11 years ago!

Well, I hope you enjoyed the peek into my space, more pics will come as I beautify it :)  Also more layout pics as soon as I get settled in.

I had a couple of pictures of my little man Zane, and wanted to do a layout about his love of stickers.  I chose a sketch I found on pinterest:
...and this was what I came up with!  I like the fun colors, the monster paper from Crate Paper has been lurking in my paper box for months waiting for the right pictures, I think it suits Zane perfectly :)
If you are ever experiencing scrappers block, just go on Pinterest and type Scrapbooking sketches into the search bar.  Problem solved!  There are many to choose from to get the creative juices flowing!

Weekend Blitz Challenge!

This was the Weekend Blitz sketch over on Scrap N Chat, and this was what I came up with.  I do love it, and the colors but I must admit - I am getting tired of scrapbooking SNOW pictures!  Bring on the spring photos!

Playing With Chipboard!

This is a cute chipboard album that a friend asked me to make as a Father's Day gift.  I love these little altered books, what a great way to showcase your loved one!  I order them from Etsy most of the time, they have unique shapes, etc.  They are relatively simple to make, I use Tombow glue (The BEST!!! I ordered mine from www.acherryontop.com, but you can also get it from Stampin Up) to stick the paper to the chipboard, cut around it with a very sharp craft knife, sand the edges, and in my case I like to use a little ink around the edges as well to give it a nice distressed look.  Once you're done that part, then you just let your imagination take you away in decorating the pages, anything goes - and it's a great way to clear out your stash, making room for new supplies, lol!

Single Photo Layouts

These are some layouts that I did of my youngest son using only one picture.  Sometimes I like the simpleness of scrapbooking without having to cram in as many photos as possible.  It's more of a chance to really showcase your photo and put the spotlight on the picture.

Scrappin my stash!

This is a layout I did of my Dad, Husband, and my youngest son out in the barnyard at my parent's farm.  Very simple, but I loved the effect and I love using brown on my layouts lately.  I have been challenging myself to using some of my stash before buying any new product and I've had this die cut snowflake for quite a while.  Score one for me, now I can shop! lol!

get your photos out of the store envelopes!

This is a photo box I made for myself.  I got the chipboard box from Close To My Heart and covered it with paper from a K & Company paper stack.  Then I used my cricut to cut out the letters and flower...simple yet turned out quite pretty!  I get a lot of compliments on it when I go to crops :)
